I just got out of a car that I was in for eight and a half hours. That is a very long time to be in a car DEAR GOD! We drove all the way to pennsylvania.
Even though I think light writing is super cliche and annoying, I had nothing but my camera in my lap, so I turned on my long exposure and went crayzay with the break lights and signs. It rained the whole way here which was super duper stressful, and we had a few close calls but we made it in the end and I got lots of light pictures along the way.
Here are some fave quotes from the drive:
"No no we're not lost, just look for the north star we'll be fine. OK I see the north star we're all set"
"We're driving in circles, someone turned the signs around"
"you get farther in life with a smile than you do with a frizzown"- Guy at the drive thru window, just giving us some life advice. Oh thanks.
"we're being followed by the mob"
"I've never not seen a deer on this road." Oh ya?
"hey can we stop talking about Steve Jobs? Just for two minutes."
"I think steve jobs was autistic because theres no way you can be that smart normally"
"Sometimes I think your autistic too."
"But why would you run from the zombies? I would voluntarily get bit so that I could have some zombie fun too!"

And then we hit traffic in the pouring rain.

oh...

Yay roadtrips! Love the fourth n' fifth pictures, Bronte.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the poem: Poems are rarely ever "done." You can always go back n' rework...sometimes I revisit poems that I "completed" years ago. Just post it when you feel comfortable.
Today I'm starting a painting of a fetus hatching from a day-glo colored stain glass egg. Yay for winter break. :-0
BAA that sounds so trippy! Ya I actually remember you talking about how you're never actually finished, its so true. I'll post it soon, almost there!
ReplyDeleteAlso I did some moving around of my schedule, my english teacher is now HawkinsA. Do you know who that is? I'm still hoping a spot in your class opens up!
That's Ames Hawkins!!!!! You've heard me mention her right? She's my favorite teacher--ever! She's amazing...I was actually planning on showing her your memoir. Stick with that class. She's challenging, but will open your brain up to all sorts of new ideas!
ReplyDeleteOh ya I do remember you talking about her!! I thought Ames was her last name haha
