Charlotte and I were tired yesterday, and I have been super sick, so we decided to stay in and do crafts. We got old hardcover books from a thrift store and then we tore them up and made other things. Charlotte has a library in her house, so we thought that would be a fitting place to tear books apart, and we set up on the floor. First we took apart two old cook books and made them into a little box that holds kitchen things like mixing spoons and other things like that. The we tore apart more books and started to turn them into journals for ourselves, but we didn't finish so we're going to finish today. It sort of felt like murder, tearing old books apart in the middle of a small library. But I figure no one was going to read them again anyway, we were just recycling. I got kind of bored toward the end, so I cut out all the pictures of the fat men in the churchill book and I sliced there faces together to make even uglier men. That was a lot of fun, I pasted one onto the back inside cover of my journal.

Sometimes, it's fun to appropriate text....cut up sentences n' words n' make new texts with them.
